Greece Motorcycle Tour – From Epirus to the Peloponnese
An unforgettable 9-day motorcycle journey through the heart of Greece. From the breathtaking Vikos Gorge to the mystical monasteries of Meteora, riding across the passes of the Pindus mountains and the legendary Mount Olympus. Discover the ancient sanctuary of Delphi, the engineering marvel of the Corinth Canal, and the archaeological treasures of Mycenae. Continue along the rugged landscapes and coastal villages of the Peloponnese, reaching Gythio and the shipwreck of Dimitrios, before ending at Olympia, birthplace of the Olympic Games. A unique adventure blending history, mythology, and spectacular roads, from Epirus to the Peloponnese, with start and finish by ferry between Italy and Greece.
Day 1 – Ferry from Ancona/Bari → Igoumenitsa
Boarding the ferry from Italy in the evening (Ancona or Bari) and overnight crossing to Greece.
Day 2 – Igoumenitsa → Vikos Gorge → Ioannina (172 km – 2h45)
Arrival in Greece and departure towards the spectacular Vikos Gorge, one of the deepest in the world. Continue to Ioannina, a lakeside city with Ottoman charm, where we will spend the night.
Day 3 – Ioannina → Kipinas → Mparos → Meteora (188 km – 5h)
A mountain route among monasteries carved into the rock and the scenic Mparos and Katara passes. Arrival in Meteora, UNESCO World Heritage site, famous for its monasteries suspended among the clouds.
Day 4 – Meteora → Elassona → Mount Olympus (197 km – 3h)
From the rocks of Meteora to the foothills of Mount Olympus, the mythical home of the Greek gods. Overnight stay at the foot of the sacred mountain.
Day 5 – Mount Olympus → Pavliani → Delphi (333 km – 4h30)
A panoramic ride through mountain villages leading to Delphi, the ancient sanctuary of Apollo’s oracle, a place steeped in history and mysticism.
Day 6 – Delphi → Corinth → Mycenae → Tyros → Kosmas → Dimitrios Shipwreck → Gythio (417 km – 7h)
An epic stage: the Corinth Canal, the ruins of Mycenae, and picturesque villages of the Peloponnese, ending in Gythio, a charming seaside port.
Day 7 – Gythio → Kardamyli → Andritsaina → Olympia (265 km – 5h)
Coastal and mountain roads leading to Olympia, birthplace of the Olympic Games, where we will visit the archaeological site.
Day 8 – Olympia → Patras → Igoumenitsa (425 km – 6h30)
Final ride through mountains and along the Peloponnesian coastline before reaching Igoumenitsa to board the evening ferry back to Italy.
Day 9 – Arrival in Ancona/Bari
Morning arrival in Italy and end of the journey.
